Boogey Lights

...The BoogeyBoard

I've never kept a blog, as it always seemed like too much work to keep up with. Plus, who cares about my thoughts and feelings throughout the day? I mean, let's be real. So I don't plan to start one now, at least not the personal diary version.

But, what if there were a communication tool that you could use to quickly log your daily activities from time to time, was very easy to use, allowed only brief text messages and most of all was fun? Something that keeps you in touch with friends and family unlike any other technology yet? Well it's here and it's called Twitter (www.twitter.com).

Twitter is something I think I will use every day. From time to time throughout the day I simply enter a short phrase (140 characters max) about what I'm doing, or have been doing since the last entry. Others can follow these entries and those of other friends. These short entries you make throughout the day appear on their home page where they enter their brief messages. Using Twitter is like being in constant contact with your friends, even though you are just reading brief notes about their daily activities. Christine, Julie and Steve are also using Twitter and you can follow all of us on the Team page of boogey.com to get a sense of the different entries we make each day:

I prefer Twitter to blogging as it is a very quick way to communicate with friends what you are up to without getting into a long essay. I just don't have the time to blog. Twitter is more like texting on a cell phone, but you don't expect a reply from anyone. Although, you can route your friends' messages to your cell phone. It's a great way for people to stay close to you without having to know your entire daily life story. I wasn't sure I would like Twitter, but I'm finding it to be very cool and I think our customers may enjoy following us and their friends too.

Twitter also has TwitterVision (www.twittervision.com) where you see Twitters pop up all around the globe in real time, more or less. Looking at this somehow makes you feel more connected to people around the world. People you've never met but you feel connected. This is very cool technology and I think it has great potential in regards to keeping people connected in a way that's simple, easy to keep up with and fun. I hope my kids like it and start using it. What a great way to be able to share a bit of their day!

A blog about not wanting to blog. Ironic.
