Our "Jesus Dog"

Laugh if you want but look at this little dog's left ear and see for yourself. Murphy is a 5 lbs, 8 year old long hair Chihuahua with a special story.

In February of 2003 she disappeared and we were worried sick about her. I prayed and promised God that if He'd send her back she would spend the rest of her life with us. At that time I had been trying to find a good home for her as we had many dogs and she wasn't my favorite (I know that sounds awful!). Sure enough, late that night Murphy found her way back home.

This picture was taken 9/11/06 and had been my background image on my cell phone since then. Earlier this year someone asked me if they could have her and of course I refused. Then I noticed the image in her ear (although I'd looked at that picture plenty of times). To me it was like a thank you for remembering an important promise. How can this little dog not be special?
