Tim Padget First Thread

Everything is fine down here in Charleston...a little warm, but nothing we are not used to. I opened my store (TreVic Motorcycle Accessories) about 18 months ago, and we're keeping our head above water. I started out selling just accessories, however we've grown to include consignment sales and service work.

This week we're installing lights on a Vengeance Chopper and installing the new 'breather' remote on two bikes. I put the new remote on my bike last week, the strobe effect is WICK…

Chris Faulkenberry Hail Hell

We took a group of 24 bikes with 30 riders to Lake Lure on Sunday.

We had a great 2 hr ride to get there, Choked down a burger and a cold one, looked up at the sky, and decided it was in the groups BEST interest to hit the trail. About an hour back, ran into a good ole Carolina hail storm. OUCH! But on the bright side, no one ended up with major damage, and it only took us 6 hrs to get home. You can really learn a lot about people hanging out for a couple of hours under a gas pump awni…

Scott Maentz Podcasting - The Next Big Thing

You may have heard the term "podcast," but I find that most people really don't have a clue as to what a podcast is, how it works, or why they should care. It wasn't until I spent some time with my son a few months ago that I realized that podcasting and the iPod would absolutely change the world. That's right, this WILL change the world.

Podcasting is revolutionary because it fundamentally changes the way we get audio and video programming, as well as it dramatically increases… Continue

Christine Maentz Our "Jesus Dog"

Laugh if you want but look at this little dog's left ear and see for yourself. Murphy is a 5 lbs, 8 year old long hair Chihuahua with a special story.

In February of 2003 she disappeared and we were worried sick about her. I prayed and promised God that if He'd send her back she would spend the rest of her life with us. At that time I had been trying to… Continue

Ed Kozlowski Use your head, and think before you act.

Last week the local police dept. did a sting at a local bike night. They wanted to target the sport bike community. Well, their common sense was no where to be found. They came to a bike night where there is about 2,500 bikes on a Wednesday night. They hammered everyone and anyone for whatever they could think of and dream up.

Some of the citations they handed out were earned, others were way out of line and no reason to cite these folks.

The credability and respect that this lo…

Scott Maentz Blogging vs. Twittering

I've never kept a blog, as it always seemed like too much work to keep up with. Plus, who cares about my thoughts and feelings throughout the day? I mean, let's be real. So I don't plan to start one now, at least not the personal diary version.

But, what if there were a communication tool that you could use to quickly log your daily activities from time to time, was very easy to use, allowed only brief text messages and most of all was fun? Something that keeps you in touch with friends… Continue

Gary Dunn Gold Wing Cut N Click kits

Barb and I recently introduced 5 LED kits for the Gold Wings that use Cut N Click strips and TNT Grenades. So far the response has been positive and we have had a lot of inquiries (and several purchases) of the new kits. We created a new wiring kit specifically for the Gold Wing.

As I was working on the Pumpkin bike (with its several miles of wiring :) ), I thought a lot about how to make the wiring easier for the Do-it-Yourselfers out there that install Boogey Lights themselv…

Scott Maentz Do you need a CDL?

I recently learned that I need to obtain my commercial driver's license (CDL) in order to lawfully drive our rally rig. Yes, it's true. Any not for recreation vehicle pulling a trailer with a GVWR of over 10,000 lbs where the COMBINED weight RATING of the truck & trailer is over 26,000 lbs is considered a Class A commercial vehicle. This is a federal law and it applies in all 50 states. Oh for the good ol' days when ignorance of this law was bliss.

Fortunately my driving record is c… Continue

Christine Maentz Sola, our Siamese Princess

Sola is the first cat we've ever owned. She's quite the Princess. Being raised among our dogs, she gets along very well with all of them. When we walk down to the office or back up to the house, she follows along just like one of them! That's if she doesn't get forgotten and locked up in Scott's office - Scott really gets a mouthful the next morning!

Christine Maentz Innovative tools to promote website

We want our customers to feel that they have a relationship with us - our customers are more than just a source of income! Using today's internet technology keeps us ahead of everyone else.
